Isadora Catherine Grace Schmit was born March 29, 2018, to parents Jacquelyn Grace and Cason Schmit. Arriving early at just 35 weeks, she was a preemie weighing a petite 4lbs 2oz. When baby Izzy turned one week old she was transferred from the NICU to the intensive care cardiac unit at Texas Children’s Hospital due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Two weeks into her young life, Izzy remains hospitalized and will most likely need months of round the clock medical care along with the potential of multiple heart surgeries. Mom and Dad are both staying strong as they fight for Izzy’s health, but the mounting medical bills, travel expenses, long distance lodging, and lost wages are an unexpected stress on the new parents.
