Mother in Law's medical fund

Dear friends, Myself Subhajit Mukherjee live in USA - Mount Laurel, NJ with my wife (Mousumi Mukherjee) and little daughter since October 2015. On 11th May 2017, my mother in Law, Mrs. Bani Banerjee (58 years old) came to visit us. She was supposed to return back to India towards the end of October 2017. On 2nd September 2017, we were getting ready to go out. She woke up in the morning completely normal, had breakfast. After taking bath she was suddenly not feeling well, within minutes she was experiencing extreme headache and nausea. We called 911 and before the medical team arrived, she went unconscious.

She was rushed to Virtua Mt Holly Hospital emergency room, sedated and getting oxygen support. There she had a head scan and the doctors found out she had significant bleeding in her brain (Subarachnoid hemorrhage). She was flown to the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and admitted into the Neuro ICU. The neuro surgeons suspected that the bleeding had happened from a ruptured brain aneurysm
, a condition where a blood vessel in the brain swells out like a balloon, becomes weak and can rupture with elevated blood pressure. In the evening she underwent major surgeries on her brain to, 1. Coil the aneurysm
, 2. Remove the left side of her skull bone to relieve pressure, 3. Place pipes to drain out the blood. 

Around 3:00 AM on 3rd September, the doctors told us that the surgeries were successfully done, but significant damage had already been made to her brain and she is in a coma. Since then, a month has passed by. Her general health has got better, but her neurological health is still very critical. 

Going forward, we have to take her to a nursing home where she will need24/7 care and rehabilitation.  The nursing care facility will be finalized and we will be making the move most probably in the first week of October.

She had a travelers insurance, but the insurance company declined coverage stating that it is preexisting condition. With the help of doctors we are appealing against that. We have been informed by the Hospital Social worker team, that she is not eligible for government / charity funded nursing / long term ongoing care and we as family have to fund it. We have received a quote from a nursing care facility in South Jersey which is ~$400 per day.

We need to make arrangement for the nursing expenses as soon as possible since it is the only way my mother in law can survive and possibly get any better. My wife is devastated and we as a family are going through a very tough time. In this situation any help from your end will keep our hopes alive and keep us fighting against all odds.

Myself Subhajit Mukherjee and my wife Mousumi Mukherjee are from India and we live in NJ , USA since 2013 on a work VISA. I work for an IT company.

Mrs. Bani Banerjee is my wife's mother. We are raising the funds for the treatment of Mrs. Bani Banerjee.

The funds raised will be used for paying the Nursing home / rehab care cost for Mrs. Bani Banerjee, since she does not have insurance coverage and is not eligible for government grants / charity.

I will withdraw the funds and pay the money to the nursing home directly.
