Food Money for Alex/Secular Refugees

My friend Alex is an atheist from Saudi Arabia seeking asylum in Germany. He arrived many months ago with cash he had saved but has spent it during his protracted asylum seeking process (his claim was denied and is in appeal) and is currently not eligible for financial assistance for food or other basic living expenses. He is not allowed to work and is in serious need of money to purchase food and to travel outside his current assigned refugee camp to get to the store and various appointments.

I've known him for almost a year and he has been transferred from camp to camp since his arrival. (I believe this is his 5th refugee camp, and it does not have food resources for the people who live there, unlike several of the previous camps.)

This fundraiser is for Alex,  and for
Atheist Refugee Relief (ARR) the German non-profit organization which has been able to help him, and many others, with legal representation and other needs. His portion of the money will help him purchase food and getting around town (the camp is remote), and purchase basic daily living items until his status is settled and he can either provide for himself, or receive financial assistance from the government.

ARR's German name is: “Säkulare Flüchtlingshilfe – Atheisten helfen” (SF-AH) - In its practical work, the association aims to find suitable housing for secular refugees, to accompany them to offices, doctors, lawyers and to offer them access to suitable language and integration courses, physiological and psychological therapy.

Funds up to $6000 will be split evenly between Alex and Atheist Refugee Relief  (ARR).

Funds raised above $6000 will be split between ARR, Free Hearts Free Minds  and Secular Rescue .
 
Please help me support my friend Alex by providing money for food and other basic needs, and help boost funding for the small organizations that help people like him.

Thank you! It is very difficult to see people struggle and be unable to help in what seems like a tangible way. Providing Alex with funds to eat healthily while going through an extremely stressful, unsettled and lengthy process will make such a difference in his well-being.  And being able to give to the groups that can help on the ground, in other tangible and practical ways is wonderful too.
