Save the calves and help a farmer

$17,545 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 181 people in 7 months
As you all know, times are very tough for our Farmers.

Sandy Rogers parents - Jane and Jeff own a farm in Quirindi and whilst they are struggling, their neighbours are in a bit of a crisis.

On this farm, they have 20 cows and lots of calves to feed.  Unfortunately the neighbor cannot afford it anymore and so they are going to have to sell off the cattle next week and shoot the calves.  I know that is a grim sentence, but it’s harsh reality of what is happening.

With your donations, Jane is going to adopt these calves and feed them with mixed milk and pellets for 12 months.

The cost to raise them to full grown is $10,000.

We have a goal of $15,000 which will save these calves, and buy a truck of hay to keep the cows alive.

Our deadline is Thursday 16th of August.  We don't have long.  Anything you can donate would be so greatly appreciated.

All money raised will be deposited into Jane and Jeff Rogers account who will then distribute the funds for their calves and cows needs.

A note from Jane and Jeff Rogers:

Dear Emma,
Thank you so much from my heart. I am in a very happy daze right now, you cannot imagine what this financial boost means to us. The drought over the past 2 years has really been challenging, and the fact that we don’t know when it will end, makes it hard to plan for. It is so difficult trying to make the right decisions, but our main aim is to keep our herd intact for the future. So many breeding cows are being sold for slaughter, as farmers cannot afford to buy any more feed for them.
I took this photo this morning of 2 of our ( graduate !) first calving heifers. The apricot cow has fostered this calf after her calf died while we assisted with its birth. The black cow also had trouble calving, but her calf arrived safely. They will happily return to their paddock today.
Wow, you have all so generously given us such a big boost to go forward. We will keep trying hard to save our cows.
Many thanks
Jane and Jeff xo

WE DID IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sitting here crying happy tears because of everyone’s GENEROSITY!!!
I know, in these times, that we all can’t afford to reach into our back pocket and donate to all of these causes. I know that a $10 to someone could be there lunch money. So THANK YOU for every single donation we have received because together we got there and every single donation was important.

We are calling Jane at 930am to tell her the news. She is still so unaware this is happening. I will post the video of the call.

You are all wonderful people.

Emma and Sandy xxx
