Help Farrah and family - CO theater tragedy
Posted by Victoria Albright
Last fall I found out that the fundraising effort for Farrah Soudani was nominated for the first annual Crowdfundie Award, presented at the 2013 Global Crowdfunding Conference and Bootcamp.
Recently I was notified that the campaign won first prize in the Charitable Causes category.
I am grateful for everyone who voted, and am humbled at this recognition. I celebrate all of you, the gracious and generous donors, who are responsible for assisting Farrah as she moves forward with her life, and achieves all of her hopes and dreams.
It was one year ago today , just after midnight, on July 20, 2012, that one of the most horrific tragedies in American history occurred. Friends, families, adults, and children went very innocently to watch a movie; never imagining the horror that would unfold.
It was a night that would take lives, change lives, and affect people not only in our nation, but around the world. People came together to support those whom they never heard of and would never meet, but still they poured our their hearts in prayer, opened their wallets to contribute, and stood in solidarity and compassion for all of those affected by this terrible event.
It is my wish to everyone who reads this post, that the healing continue, and that you remember to forgive, but not forget, and to love, cherish, and hold your loved ones close, and remember to offer support, a helping hand, or merely a smile to every stranger you pass by. You never know what they are going through, and your simple act of compassion may provide the hope needed in that moment.
With love, light, and peace,
It is a great honor to be notified that the fundraising campaign that I started for Farrah Soudani, in the aftermath of the Colorado Theater Shooting was nominated for an award in the first annual Crowdfundie Awards, falling under the Charitable Causes Campaign section.
Please consider casting your vote for the work to raise money, and set up an an Irrevocable Special Needs Trust for Farrah to get her life back on track.
