Thank you for visiting our gofundme page, and thank you for the outpouring of love and support from our friends on Facebook, many of whom are Legler Knives customers, and others, friends we have met along the way in life.
Alice and I have been married for 40 years, and in the late 1980's when health insurance skyrocketed we were forced to drop ours. Now, with Alice in her 64th year and nearing Medicare, We are faced with a diagnosis of Stage 3 (possibly 4) Cancer involving the uterus. If we are able to start chemotherapy soon, there is a good chance that she and I can continue on in life and enjoy a retirement together.
The issue is paying the healthcare bills up until her Medicare kicks in, on October 1. We have already racked up some pretty healthy expenses, just in the testing phase. There will be more with the chemo, and more blood tests and probably more with the paracentisis. Unfortunately, we have been advised that waiting till October 1st is not possibleif we expect any type of favorable outcome.
If you are able to help, we would appreciate it very much. If you cannot, please remember your love and support is welcome and highly valued as well, and if you could spread the word of this effort through other social media channels, it would be very much appreciated.
Normally, I would not ask for this type of help, it's just not how we prefer to do things, but many small gifts may well save Alice.
Finally, in the event we end up not needing the entire goal we set up for this campaign, it will be donated to someone else in need. We do not have end figures at this time, but we are hoping that $36000 will get us to where medicare and medigap insurance can pay for the operations and further chemo she will need in the future.
Thank You!
