Heart Surgery for SKY
Donation protected
Recently Skyylar has been diagnosed with a heart defect that will shorten her life significantly if we don't try and fix it. She has a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus) which causes heart failure with in the first 3-4 years of life for most dogs (she is 3). Luckily Sky LOVES her naps, so because she hasn't been the most active dog, her heart is only slightly enlarged and has the opportunity to go back to normal size IF she has surgery soon. Which means no long lasting complications and her life span increasing up to 13 years! There is a minimally invasive surgery that can be done at The Texas A&M University College Station small vet hospital, that has a ridiculously good success rate! Knowing all of this there is no question, we are getting Skyylar the surgery! Marissa and I aren't ones to ask for handouts, we work hard for what we need and we have pride in being responsible with our finances. Unfortunately this surgery needs to be done ASAP and our funds just aren't quiet high enough to cover everything at the moment. We don't expect to have everything donated BUT anything would be a blessing and will help! Her surgery will cost approximately $4000. In order to help offset some of the costs, we want to host a day to show the love for our health, fitness and pets! Well will have a WOD that you and your dog can do, with water bowls and doggy treats after! Anything donated the day of is appreciated and we've also set up this GoFund Me account for those that may want to donate that way as well.
