Help Hannah Heal

My husband, Ville, and I are fundraising for an amazing friend of our's, Hannah, who has had a rocky road of health issues since a child, and has recently undergone a major back surgery to try and get back to the best, healthy rockstar of a girl she is! Here is Hannah's story:

"When I was 10 years old I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis. My curvature was increasing rapidly and the doctors told me I would have to have surgery to stop the curvature from progressing and straighten me out using two titanium rods & multiple screws. A lot of adolescents are diagnosed with scoliosis (mostly females) and only few cases are severe. A severe case left untreated can lead to many internal issues as well as physical disabilities. In my case, I went ahead with the surgery confident in the fact that they would be able to fix me. During the surgery there were complications with my spinal cord and my right leg went paralyzed. They removed all hardware and went forward with a spinal fusion for almost my entire thoracic spine. From there, I had to lay completely horizontal in a body cast for 3 months and spent the remainder of the year upright in a body cast. Eventually, I was able to return to sports and living an active life that I love.
Two years ago I started to get pretty bad back back pain and in the last 6 months it has become increasingly worse. After a new set of scans I was informed that my curvature had been fused (12 years prior) at 25 degrees and I was now at 70 degrees. After attempting other ways to relieve the pain and numerous doctor's opinions I am going forward with the second (and hopefully final) surgery. On November 28th, 2016 they will essentially go in and reattempt to straighten me out"

Hannah has come out of surgery and doctors are very pleased with how well things went. Although, Hannah is now on a very similar long road to recovery as before; body cast for a few months and a year of hard work to get back (albeit better and taller) to her stellar self.

We are asking for money for Hannah to buy a plane ticket (round trip airfare ~$3000 plus some travel expenses) to fly down to Argentina in one year's time (this girl needs a goal to shoot for to get her through this next really tough year of healing), and meet us to do some backpacking! This goal Hannah has set really means the world to her and she really needs the help of generous and caring people out there to help her achieve this goal. We, Hannah, her friends and family are so incredibly grateful for all your help!
