I am Elizabeth Onyango, an avid cook and lover of fine food. I am originally from Kenya and worked at one of Kenya's finest Culinary Hotels, The Utalii College for 8 years where I learned a lot about food, service and customer relations.
In California, I've run a successful catering business and due to pressure from my loyal customers, I feel its time I had a sit-in restaurant serving the same sumptous food they order from me every week.
Hakuna Matata Restaurant will cater to health conscious folks introducing them to a new food culture that they have not yet been exposed to in Los Angeles.
Our past clients have been International Food Festivals and events catering in Stockton, Modesto, Turlock, Camarillo and Los Angeles.
Our menu includes a blend of healthy Kenyan/East African favorite delicacies like Chapati, dengu, sambusa, mandazi, ugali, sukuma wiki, biriani, matoke, samaki, nyama choma etc. all seasoned with original Kenyan spices.
Coffee and Tea lovers will experience the exceptional blend of Kenyan Coffee and Tea straight from tea and coffee farms of Kenya.
