Home is Where... is a theatre and oral history project, bringing together stories of people who have grown up all over the world and created hybrid cultural identities.

Creators Guleraana Mir and Amy Clare Tasker have been invited to speak at TWO international conferences this spring! We will present the project and demonstrate an interactive drama workshop exploring the themes of the play: home, identity, and belonging.
March 23-25, we'll be at the Families in Global Transition conference in the Netherlands.
April 21-22, we'll be at the NYU Forum on Ethnodrama in the USA.
Both conferences offer an important opportunity for us to make connections that could help the project: in the short term, we hope to partner with international schools to bring the workshop to their students. In the long term, we'd love to take Home Is Where on an international tour.
This is all very exciting - but it's difficult to afford the opportunity. Did you know, most speakers at conferences don't get paid to attend, and in fact have to pay to register like everyone else? Add to those costs, travel and accommodation in The Hague and New York City, and soon the total reaches £2,000 before you even get to daily expenses like lunch and metro cards.
Can you help? We are independent artists paying for these trips out of our own pockets. £2000 would cover all our major costs - but every little helps. If you've got £20 to spare, think of it as taking us out to dinner in The Hague. £2 would keep us caffeinated... Truly, anything you can contribute will make a big difference.
We're really grateful for the support we've received so far: Families in Global Transition have awarded a David C Pollock Scholarship to Guleraana, which allows her to attend the conference without paying registration, and covers some of her travel costs. NYU has also generously offered us a discount on our registration fees, saving us about $100 each.
