Help for Yoneli Bonilla & Family
My name is Mallory Ibarra, I am creating this page for a family that is near and dear to ours. Tony Bonilla is an employee of my Husband's Electrical company for the past two years. He has a beautiful family Yerrika Santiago (His Wife) and Mother to his 3 beautiful girls Yahesia is his oldest daughter, Yoneli & Yareli Bonilla his twin daughters born December 12th 2017.
This family has seen some very hard times this past year as their daughter Yoneli has been fighting for her life since birth. The twins were born pre-mature and spent weeks in the NICU at StonyBrook University Hospital, after being released and sent home Yoneli suffered from an episode where she stopped breathing completely. (she was just a few weeks old) Luckily her father was able to perform CPR and get her breathing again. Since then Yoneli has had multiple seizures and countless trips back to StonyBrook University Hospital to determine the cause of her illness.
Yoneli has been battling high fevers for over 7 months without a clue as to what could be causing the fevers to be uncontrollable. Yerrika and Tony brought Yoneli back to StonyBrook University Hospital to a pediatric cancer specialist. After multiple ultrasounds and other examinations they discovered a tumor in Yoneli's neck that was causing these medical issues. Over the last two months Yerrika has brought Yoneli to the Pediatric Cancer Specialist at StonyBrook University Hospital every week for re-evaluations, new scans & testing and she has been seen by many specialist.
A few weeks ago Yoneli underwent surgery to remove part of the tumor and removal of the lymph node in her neck for a biopsy. She is currently still in the hospital fighting her fever and infection from the removal of the lymph node, they have her on multiple antibiotics and they are unable to bring her fever down. Yoneli is still awaiting a bone marrow biopsy to determine the type of cancer she has, if its treatable, how to treat it etc, but she cannot have this biopsy done until her fever subsides and she is infection free.
This is just a short synopsis of what this family has been through this past year. They live off of one income Tony Bonilla is the hardest working father he does everything he can to provide for his family, including working when his daughter is in surgery just so they can pay for necessities. Tony would give you the shirt off his back, and help in any way he could for anyone. I am asking any one who can donate even the smallest amount to help with the financial burden of travel back and forth to the hospital and some assistance to pay for groceries, diapers, formula, baby food etc. would help this family tremendously. Yerrika stated they do not need money for the medical expenses as their insurance has covered everything thus far but she could really use the help of her husband by her side while their daughter is fighting for her life.
I appreciate any help that anyone can give this family and I know they will be forever grateful for this gift of assistance in their time of financial need.
