Hello and welcome to my top surgery fundraising page! I'm super excited that you stopped by!
Let me start out by saying thank you for being here! It means a lot that you are :)
Well, if you aren't sure already, my name is Erin. I am a 30 year old transman, 6 years on hormone replacement therapy. My goal for this fundraiser is to gather together the funds to finally get surgery to reconstruct my chest.
I am currently employed full time and have a second part time job. My full time position offers health insurance however it comes with a $6000 deductible and no guarantee as to coverage for this procedure. I am not fortunate enough to have access to trans-inclusive health insurance.
I am seeking assistance for this surgery primarily due to the damage binding is doing to my rib cage. I have been binding my chest for the last 8 years. Over the past year and a half instances of muscle cramping, joint inflammation, skin irritation/infection and breathing issues have increased enough that my doctor is concerned. He has encouraged me to reach out.
I have already consulted a surgeon who estimated the procedure to cost roughly $10,000.
With the little bit of money I have been able to squirrel away for the last 15 years, I feel I will be able to cover the expenses after the deductible. However getting past the deductible is the challenge.
So this is me, asking for help. However, I do have things to offer in return. Please check out my etsy shop for hand made goodies by yours truly. I also do custom orders so don't forget to browse through my Instagram for ideas! All funds from handmade sales go into my surgery fund.
