Have a space you want to Grow On? We have the knowledge and expertise to advise you on how to grow your own food, build installations, and maintain them; using repurposed materials and sustainable practices.
ACCESSIBILITY
Grow On’s number one goal is to make fresh, local produce accessible to everyone. There are two ways to get vegetables and plants:
Financial Contributions: Produce is available Monday through Friday between 7:30 am - 10:30 am and 4 pm - 6 pm, along with a variety of events throughout the year.
Give & Get Program: First and foremost, we appreciate when one shares his or her time in building and maintaining the farm. Whether you have financial resources or not, you have the option to lend a hand in exchange for vegetables and plants.
COMMUNITY
Use it as your platform! At Grow On, we provide a platform for artists, chefs, popups, performers, musicians, dancers, poets, spoken word artists, writers, and just about anyone who is passionate about their work to share their talents and messages with the community.
Since moving into our location in the St. Roch neighborhood in July 2015, we have:
· Revitalized a blighted property by clearing overgrown vegetation and debris, leveling the surface, and landscaping.
· Transformed the property into a unique and engaging event space using upcycled materials.
· Pioneered a neighborhood composting association.
· Set up a greenhouse.
· Built raised vegetable beds that are yielding herbs, veggies, and fruits.
We strive to divert “waste” in innovative ways and apply it to our zero-waste infrastructure, from vegetable bed and greenhouse-building, as well as other amenities.
