Grandma Tink's Every Puppy Book

Over three years ago I shared the following story: "I'm 67 years old. I love pets, especially dogs and cats. I'm known to lots of kids as Grandma Tink.  My top 'bucket list' goal is saving animals from neglect, pain and suffering and eventual euthanasia by educating people in English and in Spanish how to care for their pets including spaying and neutering."  With the support  of people like you in July, 2017 I published a colorful children's book entitled "Every PuppyNeeds," subtitled "Cada Cachorro Necesita." In the school year 2017- 2018 I distributed these books via a new program entitled "Grandma's Friends" where volunteers read the book to children in grade schools located in high-kill-shelter areas and gifted the books to the children. We asked the children to read out loud to their caregivers and other children.  Our goal is to educate multiple generations about animal care. Initially I requested $5,450 to have enough books to start the program in Nipomo and Santa Maria, California.  The book is now available on Amazon.com by author Grandma Tink and sales on Amazon.com raise funds to buy more books for the school program. Donations via this page go toward wholesale books and as of this date I've read and distributed the books to every third grade student in Nipomo, CA, to two sessions of students at the County of Santa Barbara Animal Services summer camp, and to the K-Kids program at Adam School in Santa Maria. The book is being used by the Reading With Rover program in San Luis Obispo County.  Now the program has been expanded to provide 2,000 more copies to local classrooms in areas where there are higher animal abuse, neglect, and euthanasia rates. With covid-19 restrictions I’m reading with children over Zoom while the children read along with me from their homes while holding the books! I'm grateful for every opportunity to interact and inspire children as animal ambassadors in the quest to save and support each dog and cat in our communities. Thank you for your support.
