Hello Family and Friends,

A few days ago I shared a status update from my husband, Gonzalo Duque, better known as "Gonzo". In his status, he mentioned the battle he is fighting with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As most of you know, his beloved mother passed away a a little over a year ago from this same cancer. Hers was very sudden and gave her no chance to fight. With Gonzo, he has been a trooper and has been combating this cancer with me and our 3 girls attentively by his side tending to his every need and helping him through this storm every step of the way. He has also been dealing with what he referred to as a "bump in the road" when he was recently hospitalized in the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.

With all their attention on this cancer and its affects on our family, time have been very tough and it seems as though the road may be bumpy for quite some time to come. I have started a fund to help ease some of the financial burdens during this difficult time.

For the past several months Gonzo has not been able to manage nor keep his business up and running. He has been focused on his battle and fighting a good fight. Even through this fight, he has not lost his devotion to the church. He still manages to update his weekly church bulletin online. Your continued thoughts and prayers for Gonzo are encouraged and any donation to help support him and our family during this time is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention and for support with prayers and get-well wishes!

May God bless you all!!

Just an update:
My husband Gonzalo Duque saddly ended his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on Thursday June 26 at 7 in the morning. He fought to the last breath. Altough he did not want to give up, the Lord called him home.

Thank you Lord for giving me the most amazing human being for a husband to father my 3 beautiful girls.. A man of integrity, honesty, hard working, wise, talented, funny, mischievousness, a man who devoted his life to Jesus and Mary. He was successful, a business owner! Thank you for his life. You will always be forever in my heart and in the heart of many. Not only have you touched people with your ...life but you also transformed many lives throughout the world. You were an inspiration to many! You fought the biggest of the battles and God only chooses its strongest soldiers for his battle. God has prepared an amazing place for you and we know that from above you are watching us. Thank you for teaching us so much, the biggest lessons of life, which is total consecration to Jesus and Mary. We love you forever! Rest in Peace my love.

Thanks again to all who have been donating! I do feel better after receiving my treatments, usually every Friday. I still have a way to go though and I'm confident that the giving spirit of so many people will enable me to achieve my family's goal!

Thank you and God Bless!!

Friends, I appreciate all your generosity! I still have a bunch of treatments to go to so that I can beat this thing and Yanira and I have found a great place in East Lansing Michigan that can help me! They take about 6 ounces of my blood out, subject it to ultraviolet light, and then infuse it back into me. Then they infuse me with strong doses of Vitamin C. It seems to be working! I can continue to go to these treatments as long as I have the donations from the wonderful friends and family that have been helping me along the way! I still have a way to go with these treatments in order to have an effectiveness in reducing the cancerous tumors and make a difference.

Thanks so much for your past and continued generosity!!

Although I didn't know him I was moved by his struggle. I believe he is in a better place now free of pain and suffering. I know he will be missed on this earth by all who loved him, but the only thought that will bring you peace is to believe he is in a better place and watching over you. RIP and may God bless.

Gonzo, Savatri has passed on to me some information about the NIH and their treatment policy. Please look them up... their treatment is totally free however long it may last, and it's at the leading edge of technology. Once you're accepted, all we have to do is get you to Bethesda. Contact me either at my gator address or thru the SFF if you have any trouble linking up with them.
