Amy Michele Huffaker was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer in December 2011. For over three years she worked with the best medical teams to treat her disease and try to find a cure. She always had a fierce, positive attitude, and aggressively pursued all available treatment options.
Unfortunately, at the end of 2014 her treatments became ineffective and she ran out of options. She endured a sharp decline and passed away in her home on March 19, 2015. She had just turned 41 years old, and was exactly one week away from her 21st wedding anniversary.
This Gofundme page is based on her specific request that goes as follows: "I don't want anybody to send flowers to my funeral. It's a waste of money and they'll just die anyway. Instead, I want them to take that same amount of money and donate to cancer research so that other people may not have to suffer what I have gone through."
