My name is Alynthia Curtis and I am the Assistant Principal at Atherton Elementary School. Atherton is located in Houston's high poverty Fifth Ward area.
On Friday, April 8, 2016, the female staff and I are putting together a day of fun to honor our 282 beautiful, intelligent and talented young ladies. This event will give our young ladies key points on: Motivation, Sewing, Self-Esteem, Self-Respect, Social Behavior and more. Each PK-5th grade girl will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive tea party which includes tips on etiquette and manners.
In a spirit of unity and sisterhood, we would like for all of our girls to wear the same outfit. The outfit will include a t-shirt, tutu, tights and a string of pearls. All monies will be used towards our girls outfits, tea party and etiquette training.
We will be extremely grateful for any donations we receive to help us to boost our young ladies self- esteem and their character which can open doors for them in their future.
