Bring Girls Inc. to Maxwell!
Donation protected
My name is Caroline Callea and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Maxwell Elementary School in Denver. Girls Inc. of Metro Denver is a non-profit organization that provides programs for girls in Denver Public Schools (after school, outreach, and summer programs). Our school is trying to raise money to bring Girls Inc. to our school as an outreach program for our fourth and fifth grade girls.
This program will help girls grow in being strong, smart, and bold. They will learn to make healthy choices for themselves and their health. Being "smart" entails giving them the tools to set AND achieve their our personal, educational, and career goals, and graduate from high school and then college. The bold characteristic goes hand in hand with independence; teaching them to have healthy relationships, self-confidence and sound body image, how to use their voice and advocate for others, and to be resilient.
At our school we have many after school programs for boys and girls, but we do not have anything to benefit just our girls. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to become more confident in themselves and their learning. I have a passion for teaching and am dreaming for more opportunites for our students. This program will give them an opportunity they might not have otherwise.
Your donations would be greatly apprecaited and will be going to a great cause! We would love for the program to start as soon as possible, to give our fourth and fifth grade girls this opportunity!
Thank you so much!
