Medical Expenses for Baby Giada Rae
Donation protected
November 1st, 2014 I received a call from one of my best friends, Adam, saying his wife, Lindsy, was having contractions and they were in the local hospital Emergency Department. Lindsy was two days shy of 27 weeks and the two were three hours from home (Bloomington, IN) visiting Rochester, IN for the day.
They ended up transporting Lindsy via ambulance another hour north to South Bend Memorial Hospital, where Giada Rae arrived into the world via Caesarean Section.
Baby G is doing extremely well, but with all preterm babies she has a difficult road ahead of her. Baby G will spend the next 10 weeks (minimum) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Adam and Lindsy are currently considering their options for transporting Baby G closer to their home in Bloomington.

Now for some background on the new parents! Adam is an Army Veteran, currently attending Indiana University full-time and has several part-time jobs. Lindsy is an Indiana University graduate and works full-time. The two new parents are going to have a difficult time with day to day expenses, let alone medical expenses.

My own experience in life is why I started this for Baby G. I was born with Hirschsprung's Disease, and spent the first 3 years of my life in and out of Riley Hospital. The medical bills I accumulated for my family was in the 100's of thousands. We had insurance and still my parents sold everything they owned to pay the bills. They were preparing to sell the family farm when an Angel paid off the remainder of the medical expenses. I know what my family went through with me, so my hope is that this campaign will help alleviate some of the financial pressure from Adam and Lindsy.

Any amount of donation helps and will be greatly appreciated. Even if you can't donate, sending good thoughts and prayers for Baby G and her continued progress is most important! Sharing this story on Facebook or Twitter and with friends and family will help tremendously as well.
