Help Jack get to the World Juniors

Donation protected
Can our community sponsor Jack to get to the World Juniors? I'm hoping my belief in Jack will encourage others to believe in him too.....

Jack Murray is a talented yet humble grommet from Lennox Head. His surfing has been described as "fast and fluid" and he is "undeniably gifted".

He is known about town not just because of his of surfing but also because he is a genuinely nice kid. Jack is the 'quiet achiever type' - he lets his surfing do the talking.

In 2017, while completing year 12, Jacks goal is to "compete in the Australian WSL Pro Junior Qualifying Series. There are 9 events around Australia. If I end up in the top 4 I will be off to the World Juniors"....a huge achievement.

"Also my plan is do as many WQS events in Australia and around the world as possible. If I do really well in that series I can get into the higher rated events like the QS 3,000,  6,000 and all the way to the QS 10,000 events and then the WCT."

Unfortunately, as the costs of competing are exteremly high, the schedule increasingly favours competitors that have the funds to get them through.

If you'd like to help Jack please feel free to donate as little or as generously as you can. Jack will do everything he can to make you proud. Any donation will help him showcase his talents and meet his goals.

More details about Jack
Jack is a student at Southern Cross K-12 school in East Ballina. He has been competing since he was 10.  This year, while undertaking his year 11 studies, he competed in some WQS and Pro Junior events and did exceptionally well. His results are below:

Some of Jacks achievements:

 ·        2014 NRMA Under/16 NSW Junior Champion

·        9th in the 2016 Pro Junior Series (Event #3), Gold  Coast, Australia

·        17th in 2016 World Qualifying Series (Event #20),

Where will the money will go?
The main focus are the Australian WSL Pro Junior events and then, as many WQS as he can afford to get to. This is his 2017 schedule as a starter:

14 Jan - Bells Beach
19 Jan Maroubra Pro (WQS)
23 Jan Cronulla
29 Jan  Burleigh Pro (WQS)
01 Feb Tweed Coast Pro, Cabarita (WQS)
07 Feb Great Lakes Pro, Boomerang Beach (WQS)
11 Feb Merewether
04 March Avoca
08 April Kiama
12 April, Lances Rights, Mentawais, Indonesia (WQS)
22 April, Keramas, Bali, (WQS)
....and then the europe leg is dependant on funding.

How did this start?
When I heard that  Jack's dad Phil was struggling to get the money together for the 2017 surfing schedule I decided to show my support by seting up this funding campaign.
Ive surfed with Jack for years and he has always been respectful in the water, sharing waves, not always taking. Thats not always the norm for grommets with a surfing gift and desire to achieve. lt is this attitide that inspired me to support Jack to do something most people only dream of.
