This account is to raise money to honor and support our beautiful friend, Karen McPhaul Squyres.
As you may know, Karen was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. As we all know, Karen is a strong woman but the unexpected can rattle anyone's core. During this time, as she battles with the emotional challenges associated with this news, it is important for her to stay positive and stress free.
If you know Karen at all, you know that she is one of the most compassionate and fun-loving souls on the planet. She's always quick to come to the aid of any of her friends in need. So it is with great honor that we are creating this account for her ~ our opportunity to give back to one of our best friends!
The costs of cancer care are high and even with good insurance, the exorbitant out-of-pocket expenses can be a burden. Our desire is to eliminate this burden for her, so that she can stay focused on the more important aspects ~ her treatments and getting well.
There are several upcoming events scheduled in her honor (Susan Komen/American Cancer). These events ask for donations and while we love and support those organizations, that money won't help Karen specifically. This will.
Our life is full of blessings and we count them every day.
