Help Garfield Get A Rhinoscopy

Thanks to everyone’s amazing donations Garfield has had a rhinoscopy, endoscopy, and CT scan. Garfield now has a possible diagnosis of nasopharyngeal stenosis. This means that he has some scar tissue or something making his nasal passages smaller. This Friday, October 5, they are going to rescope him, and if they can find the structure, they are going to put a balloon in and blow it up to open up his nasal passages. They are rescoping him for free (!!) but the ballooning is $450-500. Unfortunately we are out of money. Please consider donating to Garfield, this procedure could change his life!
This is Garfield. In July 2017, Garfield was abandoned at CARE emergency Animal Hospital along with another cat. Both cats were covered in pesticide and diagnosed with toxicity. Foster Paws Rescue agreed to accept both cats into foster care for treatment and Garfield was placed with one of our amazing foster families! The other cat fully recovered but Garfield was left with chronic "snorty breathing." Garfield has seen multiple vets in an attempt to accurately diagnose his condition. Garfield has not responded to antibiotics, and he has been sedated to look for a polyp in his sinuses. In the time he has been in foster, Garfield has only gained 1 pound, so he is adorably small and despite all of his issues, is the sweetest cat. His foster says, "His best friend is my dog and he loves my little brothers. Garfield loves to ride on your shoulder and cuddle when he’s tired."Our next step for Garfield is an rhinoscopy that will look for a mass in his sinuses. Garfield will go to University of Georgia Vet School for a nasal workup, CT and rhinoscopy. They have given us a quote of $2500. This does not include if they find a mass in his sinuses.Foster Paws is dedicated to getting a diagnosis and putting a plan in place to get Garfield surgery (if that is determined to be what is needed) so that Garfield can recover and find a special forever home.
