G Thomas

G Thomas is a rescue dog that I adopted a couple of months ago. Even though it has not even been a year, it's indisputable that he has rescued me! G is 78lbs of love, kisses and cuddles; despite his caring nature he's had a very rough start to life. His original owners did eventually surrender him but not after years of neglect which has resulted in his collar needing to be surgically removed (completed already and healing very well!) and a very long list of skin issues some of which can be seen in the photo's. G has made remarkable progress with the meds, love and consistent care that The Pup Stops Here started for him. This brings me to the point of this gofundme page. G Thomas has a tumor in-between two of his toes on his hind left leg. Never seemed to bother him up until now, it is swollen and will not stop bleeding even when using silver nitrate(used to "cauterize" or stop bleeding). Long story short, he's scheduled for surgery for the removal and biopsy of the tumor Thursday May 31st, may require amputating a toe as well. To have the surgery done it has to be paid in full before they even start. My biggest fear is that this is cancerous and has metastasized, I cannot emotionally or mentally afford to loose this dog as he has been my rock through a very personally challenging year; but I'm re-directing my thoughts to only positive outcomes! The first 5 years of his life may have been tough but I'm committed to make the next five and more the best that I possibly can. G Thomas has committed to marching in the Rochester Pride Parade with The Pup Stops Here crew, this gofundme is to get G the surgery he needs so he's back on his feet and ready to March for Acceptance, Love and Equality! I am asking whether you know G or not, or have been touched by his life or not, any donation (even $1) would be appreciated by him and I. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Note that if the donations exceed the cost of his surgery, all remaining and future donations will be given to The Pup Stops Here so that they can continue the amazing work that they do. Just like everyone else, these pups deserve the opportunity to give their love and receive love in return! A huge thank you to anyone and everyone who participates in rescuing animals of any kind! <3

Update:

G made it through surgery like a total champion! :) Pre-op blood work revealed that he has heart worms so the next 6 months of our lives will be very low key, doctors orders. Unfortunately this means he cannot March in the Pride parade but I’d sacrifice that day in exchange for many years to come any day all day! G Thomas is a fighter, I pray to god this is the last medical hurdle that he has to surmount, still waiting for the results of the biopsy but at least heart worms are treatable!
