NGUYEN - BRAIN TRAUMA
Donation protected
For those that know us well will know my wife Cam is from Vietnam. On the 22nd July 2015 her brother Giang NGUYEN (26) and his girlfriend were involved in a motorcycle accident in Tubong. (The road to the wedding for those that came). Through no fault of his own, they have come off resulting in Giang having serious head trauma. Giang was rushed to Nha Trang Hospital on life support where he remained in a coma. His girlfriend came off lightly with little injury. Due to Nha Trang Hospital being more than inadequate we transfered him to Saigon Hospital by Ambulance (12hrs). The cost of this alone was 25 million Dong ($1500AUS). Since then we transfered him to the International Hospital in Saigon where they specialise in Brain trauma because again the Saigon public Hospital is more like a backpackers with huge infection rates.
He remains in this Hospital costing $125 AUS a day which is allot of money even us over here. To put things into perspective the average wage over there is around $300 AUS a month. This is obviously placing huge stress on her parents who just dont have that sort of money. For people that don't know how the Hospital system works over there, if you don't pay the doctors what they're asking you get sent home (simple rules). No medicare just corruption.
I am not one to ask for help very often but we have gone to our limits financially as well as an overwhelming support from my immediate family. I am now stretching out to friends to see if anyone that can spare a few bucks even $5, $10 or what ever possible would be greatly appreciated from all of us as it looks like he will be in Hospital for some time.
Thanks from all of us and Cam's family in Vietnam.
