Time to treat shooters with RESPECT
Our industry wide election campaign
The Combined Firearms Council of Victoria represents the political interests of seven of Victoria's major shooting organisations.
Over the past couple of years, shooters have been subjected to shabby treatment by the government. The loss of our lever-action shotguns and introduction of "Firearm Prohibition Orders" are just two examples. The refusal to respect the role of the Firearms Consultative Committee is another. Now we find out that the current government has plans for even more changes to our gun laws, if it is re-elected.
So, we're here to fight back. On behalf of several major shooting organisations, we'll be running the largest ever election campaign for shooters to protect what we do.
Our aim is to support pro-shooting candidates, and get rid of politicians who have been making life difficult for us. We will do this by raising the funds necessary from shooting organisations and individuals to support the campaigns of those who will help the shooting sports.

It took a while but we've entered a new phase with our fund raising campaign where we're starting to roll out what will become an information-rich campaign as this year's Vic state election approaches.
You'll probably see that around September / October as the policy platforms of the major parties are rolled out, but prior to then we intend to start raising awareness to the broader shooting community over the poor treatment we have had by our police minister over the past couple of years, and significant risk which exists with a government which forms a coalition with the Greens, if neither side can form government in its own right.
There's no doubt that if either side of politics needed the Greens to form government, then bans on duck hunting and probably private ownership of handguns will be high on their list of demands.
We're also working on some more professionally produced material to support our campaign, which I hope you'll start seeing soon.
Thank you for your generous support to our campaign fund for this year's Victorian State Election.
We opened it up last week and passed our first $1k mark earlier this week.
While every fundraising campaign starts from zero, the journey is always worth it. In this case we'll be continuing this campaign with several different messages to support it, so do not be surprised if this ends up being one of our biggest and best results.
Some donors are also donating via PayPal, which does not appear here, plus we have some industry participants who are donating to us directly.
Thanks again for helping to kick start things for us.
We'll keep you posted on developments as they occur!
