Fremont Community School is close to having what we need to negotiate a purchase for a neighboring property and seize this very unique opportunity. We just need $500,000 for the down payment.
What do young children need?
Puddles to jump in, trees to climb up, earth to find worms in, friends to build forts with, and mud pies to bake!
Fremont Community School is able to meet these needs but our current site limits the number of families we can serve. In addition, many families who want to come to FCS aren’t able to due to its limited hours, restricted ages, and affordability challenges. It is just too hard for families when parents are working full time to find child care which meets their needs. The beauty of this neighboring property is its proximity to our existing school and the potential for another outdoor space for children living in the city. It has a yard that will support the outdoor focus of the school. Additionally, it enables FCS to offer a sliding scale cost structure which offers affordability for families of all income levels.
We need to act quickly before a developer removes an "exceptional" 100-year old sycamore tree from the property and replaces it with exclusive high-end housing.
To secure a loan with the bank, we need $500,000 for a down payment now. Once we have the down payment, we can close on the property and immediately make the improvements needed to serve babies through the age of 5. Our goal is to open by September 2018. We can't do this without you.
