Our dear friend Bessie Kaparos is facing a serious health battle, and we hope that you will come to stand by her side as she faces this challenge.

In 1999, Bessie was diagnosed with breast cancer, following chemotherapy and radiation, she went into remission. However, in 2008, the cancer metastasized into her bones and she resumed her treatments. By 2011, still in treatment, she was diagnosed with a different form of cancer in the other breast and began chemo and radiation again. Today, the cancer has metastasized in her body and Bessie is undergoing a much more intense round of chemotherapy. She is no longer able to work or drive.

We all know how costly medical treatments can be, and her expenses are quickly mounting. In an effort to support Bessie, we have come together to encourage her friends, colleagues and caring individuals to help her during this difficult time to raise funds that will help cover some of Bessie’s costs.

Any and all contributions are welcome. To that end, in addition to accepting contributions at the event, we have set up this site, and will also be hosting a fundraiser. We ask you to open your hearts and give Bessie your support as she has always given hers to us.
