Please help support our dear friend Amy Mcbride-Howlett and her family of six (four children ages 4-13) by donating your money and prayers.  In 2013, at the age of 34, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.  The family recently learned the news that it has returned and is terminal.  The doctors have given Amy very little time left and so we are reaching out to friends to raise money and support, to help ease the financial burden on her family.

It has been a very emotional 5 years for the Howlett family.  Prior to her diagnosis in 2013, Amy spent 10 weeks in the hospital hoping for a miracle for her babies, after experiencing premature labor.  Calvin and Harper were born, 12 weeks premature and spent 10 weeks in the NICU, until they were strong enough to breathe and eat on their own.  Finally, after 20 weeks of hospitalizations, the family of six, including her two older boys Noah and Carson, were re-united at their home. About a month later, Amy began to experience numbness/paralysis on her left side and face.  Amy went through a whirlwind of misdiagnoses and treatments, including MS treatments that led to a severe allergic reaction. Sadly, after biopsy confirmation, she was diagnosed with brain cancer.  In 2013-2014 Amy underwent months of chemotherapy, radiation and then eventually surgery to remove her original brain tumor and miraculously has been cancer free for the past 4 years.  Amy remained paralyzed on her left side from the original tumor but was otherwise able to lead a normal, happy life and mother her children as they have grown.  Sadly, about 9 months ago she started experiencing dizziness and a decline in speech and mobility that has continued to worsen and included a hospital stay in December for pneumonia.  Amy has been unable to speak and walk since August and the burden of care for herself and her four children has been on her family and, in particular, her amazing husband Sean.

We hope to raise funds to help pay for services, medical costs and other unexpected costs. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Friends, family and supporters,
We wanted to send an update and say thank you to everyone who has donated and to everyone who is sending their thoughts, prayers and love to Amy and her family. It has been heartwarming to see the community surround this beautiful family with support. Amy is currently home with her family and has had quite a few visitors over the past couple weeks. Much of her day is spent resting and listening to stories from her childhood through adulthood as her family and friends reminisce about all the fun times they have experienced with her. She cannot engage much, but offers a smile, laugh or tears.

Thank you again for all of your love, support, thoughts and prayers,

Amy's Friends and Family
