Freddy's Cancer Treatment Fund

On January 14, 2017, my brother Freddy Floyd was rushed to the ER after suffering from a debilitating headache and severe nausea. After an MRI, doctors found a mass in his brain the size of a golf ball, and on January 17th Freddy was diagnosed with stage 3 astrocytoma - an advanced type of brain cancer. Doctors weren't able to remove the tumor and the cancer is very aggressive, so he'll be starting outpatient chemo and radiation very soon in hopes of shrinking the mass. Freddy was discharged from the hospital a couple weeks after surgery and has had a number of complications ever since. He is not able to care for himself yet and needs a caregiver several hours a day. My family members and I have been taking shifts as much as we can, driving to the Palm Springs area from all over California once a week, but it's still not enough and it's not sustainable.

On top of needing funds for a caregiver, we also need help paying for cancer treatments, ER & hospital bills, medical equipment and medications. Fortunately, he does have medical insurance, but still a significant amount is coming out of pocket.

Freddy has always been a caring husband, a loving father to his three young boys, and just a good, honest person all-around. He can find humor in any situation and loves to put smiles on people's faces, especially his loved ones. He's been a fitness enthusiast for most his life, which is all the more reason this diagnosis was so unexpected.
