Make Jill a FOREST Therapy Guide

Bring PEACE to one individual at a time!
Help connect overwhelmed, stressed out folks of all ages (maybe even YOU!) to Nature’s healing by funding my six-month training to become a certified FOREST THERAPY GUIDE.

WHO AM I? Hi! My name is Jill Emmelhainz. I am in my second half of life. I am a sometimes-too-independent wife and an always-so-proud mom of seven kids, most of whom are grown and wandering the world. I am passionate about living life fully and encouraging others to do the same as they discover their unique strengths. I have always enjoyed being outdoors. I camp, canoe, snow-ski and backpack, but soaking up sunshine is more than a hobby for me. I regularly use connection with Nature as a prescription for healing…

This Dream Job is a PERFECT FIT for me! Forest Therapy Guides help folks of all ages become healthier by connecting with the healing power of nature. I have first-hand experience of the PEACE this therapy brings:
·         Comfort when grieving my son’s death 10 years ago
·         Peace during the chaos of caring for a spouse with cancer
·         Rest for a stressed out mama of a large family
·         Recovery from struggles of working with at-risk minority youth
·         Stability for a daughter with severe anxiety and mental illness

No matter what path I’m walking, I reach out to those around me to encourage and support them in facing similar challenges. I have done this type of informal mentoring for years. Now I have the opportunity to complete formal training and gain certification to more effectively do what I am already practicing. I can’t wait to guide others in how to add Nature Therapy into their busy, stressful lives!

Why I Need YOUR HELP! Usually we are the strong, independent family that helps others. Like many of you, we manage to effectively juggle daily living expenses for a family. We stretch our budget to cover therapies for a daughter with disabilities, college expenses for a son, and occasional travel to visit far-flung family and grandbabies. We even survived hubby being laid off last year.

Normally we delay new experiences until we have cash to cover costs. It would take a long while to save enough money to pay for the training class to become a Forest Therapy guide, especially since most courses are overseas or on the far side of the country. I was excited to find a program unexpectedly offered in my home state this year! It seems worth taking out a loan to save thousands of dollars by taking this (almost) local training. I need your help to repay this loan by the end of the year so I have a fresh start to cover the costs of launching my business to help families in my local community once I am certified.

How DONATIONS will be used: This Go-Fund-Me Campaign will pay for the cost of completing the six month training process to become a certified Forest Therapy Guide with The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, an international advocacy organization. My program will start in September 2018. The breakdown of expenses is as follows: $3860.00 for training and fees; $540.00 food, transportation and lodging costs for on-site training, $300.00 materials and supplies. Donations above the campaign amount will be used to offer scholarships or free classes in my local community after I am certified.

What’s In It for YOU? First, you will FEEL GOOD knowing you are helping me train for my Dream Job. Plus, you will HELP BRING PEACE to stressed out clients as they learn how to slow down and connect with Nature’s Healing. Finally, I offer UNIQUE PERKS for donors that you won’t find anywhere else. Check out the donation reward levels below…

What YOU can do to HELP: I am so thankful for each one of you who donates to help me reach my goal. Any amounts and every donation are significant! Thank you in advance for participating by donating… MY FIRST LOAN PAYMENT is due October 1st!

Whether or not you donate, I also need your help to spread the word about my dreams and plans. Successful campaigns are shared widely. Please share my story with your friends. Then they, too, will have the opportunity to feel good about helping, bring peace to stressed out folks, and receive special perks for donating! I'm halfway through the initial 8 day training intensive in the 6 months Forest Therapy Guide certification program. What I'm learning is fascinating, stretching, and somewhat overwhelming at times. (Soooo much to remember!)

Thanks to so many family and friends who are supporting me in this process--financially, with prayers, and just generally cheering me on. Your encouragement is hugely important to me!

Over the coming weeks, I'll share more about what I'm learning.

Love, Jill
