Finn's Bucket List Book

$7,963 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 184 people in 1 month
Finn, the golden retriever, has almost finished his bucket list, but he needs your help with his biggest and most challenging bucket list goal yet - to write a children's book about his story! (Bucket List #50)

The goal of this book is to tell Finn's story of courage and adventure to a younger audience with this children's book. Finn's family wants to commemorate Finn with this children's book to raise awareness for pet cancer and create it as a resource for children and families confronting pet loss or pet cancer in their lives. With your support for this book project, Finn's bucket list adventures can live on for generations to come and can continue to inspire families everywhere.

Donations made to this project will first go to fund the costs of creating, publishing, and producing Finn's book.

Any excess funds will be donated to the National Canine Cancer Foundation, the Live Like Roo Foundation, and Emma's Foundation for Canine Cancer. These donations will help Finn check off another one of his bucket list goals, to help other dogs with cancer! (Bucket List #42)

You can follow along with the rest of Finn's bucket list adventures on our Instagram page using @finnandyogi or #finnsbucketlistvt

To learn more about Finn's story you can read about him on the BBC, linked here .

Thank you very much for considering a donation to this project and for helping Finn finish his final bucket list goals!

We said goodbye to Finn on Saturday 11/3 We thought that this would be the most difficult decision that we would ever have to make, but it was not. In truth, Finn’s decline had been obvious to us over the few days prior, and over the last few weeks. We upheld his quality of life as much as possible to preserve every ounce of dignity for him. His disease process caused breathing difficulty and as he declined over the last few days, it was obvious to us that we needed to plan for a peaceful departure a little sooner than we expected.

Finn died very peacefully at home surrounded by so much love and compassion. Finn was incredible and he will always be remembered

Finn's book will be written in his memory, and although he did not complete this bucket list goal while still living, it will be even more important and meaningful to write his story with your help.

Progress on the book:

A draft of the main story line has been written and we have talked with a few illustrators but have not made a decision on illustrations yet. We will be continuing to develop the story line and language, and consult other writers and editors about this book project before we decide on an illustrator. Thank you so much for your support and we will continue to update as things continue to progress. Thank you to everyone who has sent such nice, loving condolences over the last few days. We are showing Yogi extra love and making sure that he is doing alright with this transition, and taking time to reflect on this loss and the wonderful life and peaceful death that Finn had.
