Firefighting has been in Dan Soulier’s blood for almost his entire life; as a volunteer at Camp Hill Fire Department through his career with the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire retiring as the Fire Chief, and most recently as an engineman and educator for the Fairview Township Fire Department.
Dan’s accomplishments and contributions to the fire service in Central Pennsylvania are extensive, but Dan has demonstrated the qualities and characteristics of Advocate, Leader, Visionary, Mentor, Teacher as a leader in local, county, and state organizations; developed and facilitated changes in policy, standards, guidelines and curriculum; and promoted Public Safety through persistence and innovation for the betterment of all.
This past December Dan was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Besides the illness, the amount of added stress and the financial burden associated are tremendous. The prognosis for this disease is not good. That being said, we are hoping to raise money for treatments, medicine and any other medical needs he faces throughout the treatment.
Anything helps and we can't begin to tell you how much your support would mean to Dan and his efforts to fight back.
In addition to this GoFundMe campaign the Fairview Township Fire Department will be holding two events on April 1, 2017 to help defray Dan's medical bills.
A community Chicken BBQ will be held from 11:00 a.m. until sold out and a Beef & Beer Event will be held at the fire station from 5:00 P.M. until 11:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars.
