HOMELESS!!

Donation protected
I was recently hospitalized and my employer terminated me while I was in the hospital. I live in an "Employment At Will" state, which means any employer can terminate you at any time, without any reason.

Now I have rent to pay, electric bill to pay, and no income. I have applied for emergency assistance but have not received anything. I am actively seeking employment as I do not want to lose my apartment.  I am trying to get assistance from local agencies, but my name isn't on the lease, hers is. I attempted to change the lease to my name but, because the rent is overdue, they won't make any changes UNTIL I am current.

Any amount received will be sent to my landlord to show them that I am trying to pay the rent, and hopefully avoid going to court to be evicted.   The papers have already been filed, I am just waiting for a letter from the court with a date to appear.

If anyone in the financial position could loan me the funds, I would gladly sign a contract to repay, via payments, as soon as I am gainfully employed. If you aren't comfortable sending funds but would be ok with sending them directly to the property manager, I will gladly provide you with that information!

Thank you and God Bless.

January 17 - We received our court date today; February 5th. We have until that date to come up with $1,700. I started a new job and, on the second day, was laid off because business was slow.

January22 - Applied for general assistance at social services today. I have to complete a 28 day work search before I can receive anything, which will only be $150. A month. Also saw a housing specialist, who says I can’t even apply for housing help until AFTER our court date. Catholic charities called to say that I have to have some type of income, at least twice as much as the rent, in order for them to help. Well if I made 2x as much as the rent I wouldn’t be in this position. Still no calls from the hundreds of jobs I have applied for. Not sure what is going to happen but it’s way too cold outside to be homeless.

May 8 - We have been living out of hotels for over a month now. Applying for jobs; have interviews but have not been hired yet.  We are sitting in the library, using the internet, as we have nowhere to go. Desperately need help and any amount will be appreciated!
