Exit Brexit !!

WHY READ THIS?

It is just days away from our scheduled date of leaving the European Union.  In nearly THREE years that have elapsed since our referendum it has become apparent that:

1. There remains NO plan for Brexit. All the sketchy plans for Brexit (Chequers, No Deal, Norway, Canada Plus, Canada Geese, Canada Dry etc.) are inferior to the deal we currently have with the EU.

2. There remain NO answers to the question "How will Brexit benefit me or the country?"  Even former UKIP leader Nigel Farage  cannot answer the question and Jacob Rees-Mogg suggests we won't see any benefit for 50 years.

3. There remains confusion and contention about what Brexit means, although it has become clearer that Brexit offers no value economically, socially, environmentally, ethically and so on.

Brexit is simply the pursuit of a political ideology for the few, not the many. All challenges to Brexit, be they legal, technical, social or otherwise have been ignored by our Government and the official opposition, putting their parties before the good of the country and its people.

Some say that Brexit cannot be stopped. They are wrong. They merely demonstrate the condition psychologists call "learned helplessness".  This occurs when people don't believe they can affect the outcome of an event and / or they don't know what to do about it.  We must change this.

WHAT IS THIS PROJECT FOR?

We run a variety of projects to help end Brexit, each of them different in character and targeted towards different ambitions and communities:

1. Street Ghostbusting

We continue our street pub and cafe conversations with Leave Voters to demonstrate skills of dialogue and conflict resolution. We have recorded some of these, so that others can learn from them.

The new book "Let's Talk About BREX .. it " is the culmination of our work on the street, in cafes and bars on the long slog to change minds one at a time.  See below for more details.  This took two months of continuous work to complete.

We have also continued street activism with music with a series of music based events to increase footfall at the People's March to one million people, pop up events at The Bank of England, Rail stations in London and selected locations in Kent.   We need to just cover costs for these events.  We have an event planned in Birmingham subject to funding.

We are also open to offering masterclass events in London, Brighton, Bristol, Plymouth, Birmingham, Manchester,  Liverpool, Carlisle, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh etc. to teach people the strategies and skills involved, based on the "Let's Talk About BREX .. it" book.  This programme "Defence Against The Dark Brexit Arts" will be based on master practitioner NLP strategies skills, the very skills that won the referendum.  However, we will be learning to use the skills with an ethical purpose rather than for pure manipulation.  Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a tool, like a screwdriver.   A screwdriver can be used to make furniture or as a weapon.  We will be focusing on the ethical approach.

2. Making an impact in national and international media

We have just released a book to help move the dial on attitudes to Brexit.  "Let's Talk About BREX .. it " provides a powerful cocktail of practical advice on influence and persuasion to arm Remain activists with the tools to conduct "Brexorcisms" in preparation for a People's Vote or General Election.   Check the book out on Amazon  or buy direct from the author (this is the best option to help support our ongoing work).

We continue to generate informative articles, Radio and TV material dramatic effect.  Examples include:

Article for French Political Lifestyle magazine L'OBS

Norwegian TV piece on Brexit

BBC Radio 4 - also BBC Radio Kent

LBC James O'Brien  and Nigel Farage - Five appearances

Europa United article on Strategies for Brexit Ghostbusting

Daily Mirror article  - also The Daily Mail, Metro, Kent Messenger, Express etc.

3. Who Cares About Brexit?

Who Cares About Brexit focuses on the likelihood of deaths and serious illnesses under a No Deal Brexit scenario.  It is sheer irresponsibility on the part of our Government to threaten its citizens with medicine and food shortages merely so they can get us to accept any deal that they can cobble together.  We have already put the  Who Cares About Brexit website together.  We now hope to make a poignant film along with a press campaign together to educate people about this tragic and soul-less development by our Government, although time is very short for this now.  We seek funds to develop this film and undertake the necessary press activity to give our campaign national visibility.  A draft video of the concept can be seen below.  Our film will use a professional voice over artist, feature live witness testimony and inputs from leading figures and opinion formers in the NHS etc. - estimated £3500.

4. Challenging Vote Leave Lies

We continue to challenge Vote Leave where we feel we can make an impact without contributing to the amplification of their own media presence.  Examples of this include a front page article in The Independent, The New European  and our surrealistic "online eBay auction of Nigel Farage" and "Brexit Ferry Services " projects.

5. Targeting Brexit Apathy with Music

We are currently producing a new song to target Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson and the Brextremists.  Watch this space ...

We recently produced a bizarre multi-genre piece of music entitled "Nigel Farage's Garage  " to address criticism from Remainers that say they don't like pop music or reggae, or metal etc.  Whilst the point of our work is to stop Brexit I am sensitive to the idea that music is like marmite.  Check the "Eurotrash" mix out here:

We also put out a deeply ironic Country and Western Brexit Hoedown called "Theresa May's a Remainer " to remind people that No Deal is a disaster, May's deal is very poor and Remain is the best option.  I personally don't much like country music but it was a response to a request from Remainers.  I certainly did not like the song after I'd listened to it far too many times to mix it !!  Now I have some distance I must say it remains awfully catchy in the "Benny Hill" idiom of Political Satire !! :-)  Check "The Brexit Cowpokers" out on iTunes and the animated video from Mark Duffy:

The sequel to the Theresa May song is one to encourage Jeremy Corbyn to get off the Brexit Steroids, based on the Ramones' song "Sheena is a Punk Rocker".  Check "Jezza is a Brexshitter " out.

Exit Brexit  is a song to help put an end to Brexit, designed specifically to impact the man and woman on the street who have largely been unmoved by graphs, data and elaborate arguments about stopping Brexit.  This includes leave voters in regret and remainers who think we must follow "the will of the people".  Both groups exhibit what psychologists call "learned hopelessness".

Exit Brexit , written in the Chas & Dave "Mockney" style, will help persuade Brexiteers in regret and weary Remainers that Brexit is a "Dogs Dinner".  Here's the chorus line. Imagine "Margate" by Chas & Dave sung in an East End pub with punters soaked in Watneys' Red Barrel and cockles ...

We are still pursuing an event with Charlie Mullins CBE, CEO of Pimlico Plumbers using the plumbing version of the song he contributed to "Bollocks to Brexit ".

We work on these as part of our ongoing commitment to "Break Brexit Before Brexit Breaks Britain".  I hope you can support us.

As I explained in my last update I am scaling beck my anti-Brexit activities to those I can do on a daily basis without need for support ... however in the spirit of never say never again, I have become gripped by the prospect of the European Parliament elections and the need to do something strategic to focus on making a mark for Remain. It seems there are two possible things to do:

1. To deflect UKIP and Farage in their path ... seems like the usual thing of trying to stop a bad thing happening, or:

2. Trying to gain greater engagement and turnout with Remainers, getting them to vote for Remain parties, irrespective of the outcome.

In respect of 1. above I am currently remaking the Jacob Rees-Moog and Nigel Farage songs and we plan to conduct a small tour of Brexit voting areas in the Big Yellow Bollocks to Brexit Taxi.

In respect of 2. above, I'll be doing some local engagement in my own area to encourage greater turnout of Remainers. This is my own personal business and requires no support.

Speaking personally in my own area, I will vote for whichever candidate promises to campaign on a fully Remain platform. Labour have remained mixed in this respect where I live, having probed them directly. I am also minded as to how the 2017 election was twisted to state that 80% of people voted for Brexit parties. So, my choice will be either Lib Dem, Green, Change UK, whatever seems most effective at the time and irrespective of "winning". The mathematics will tell their own story and it seems to me that if we maximise Remainer turnout, we will effectively see UKIP and Nigel off. There is of course a potential protest vote to be managed ...

At the same time I am hoping that the coming days will see greater collaboration between Remain focused parties and that this will make voting easier.

I also think there is merit in "swapping your vote" to make it more effective and impactful. I have just asked the Swap My Vote people if they plan to open the platform for the European Parliament elections. I will update when I find out more.

all the best

Back on the road again ...

We are off in a big yellow taxi tonight ... who knows where to ...

In the meantime, I arrived back from Australia at 8.00 am on Saturday and by 10.00 am I was at a stall in Medway. Quite surprisingly for my area the votes on the Brexitometer were heavily in favour of revoking article 50, with considerable confusion as to the many Brexit options now on the table.

Thanks for your continued support. I am scaling back my activities now and will be conducting more corporate activity to fund my anti-Brexit activities so thanks for all your help so far.

In case you are unaware I do Corporate, Organisation Development and Coaching / Mentoring via the Human Dynamics brand http://www.humdyn.co.uk and Keynote Speaking and Conferences via The Academy of Rock http://www.academy-of-rock.co.uk - Do get in touch if any of this rocks your boat. I run off profits to anti-Brexit activity. Although I'm rather hoping that I'll not be needing to do this for much longer ....

We've been out on the Brexit Monstrosity float most of this week and I'm probably going back to London today to travel the streets at night bringing more people to the march on Saturday.

Here is my schedule for the day in case we are able to meet:

9.00 am at the Parcel Yard in Kings Cross for a breakfast gig with North East for Europe

11.00 am with Voices for Europe for the march and The Lib Dems

Later ... possibly performing with EU Flag Mafia

Afterwards at the Red Lion and the St Stephens Tavern just down the road from No 10 Downing Street

Oh, and don't forget to sign and share the petition to revoke Article 50 via https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584

Currently running at 2.6 million signatures although the Government keep shutting the website down to demoralise people. Keep trying please.

all the best

We have been performing on the Brexit Monstrosity in the last week, undertaking a whole day tour of Kent on Sunday in a 20 hour round trip.

Here's a couple of the videos of our antics. A pub gig and an impromptu drive round Soho, performing "Your Brexit's on Fire". We had no animosity within many Brexity areas and a great deal of support on an audacious road trip.

Tomorrow we take on Essex to gain more people for the march on Saturday.
