Erin & MeLissa Make A Short Film
Well, how far back do you want us to go? We (Erin & MeLissa) have been making funny things for as long as we can remember and we've been doing it with the help of our very talented friends and anyone that has a camera. Now we are looking to tell a story that is close to our hearts and on a larger scale.
We hope to capture the story of two best friends dealing with the aftermath of an attempted suicide and plan on doing so in a way that honors those that have inspired this project.
True to form, we hope to tell this story of bad news beautifully.
To do this well WE NEED YOUR HELP. We would love to have a team of professional film makers working on this project and to do so, we need a budget. We aim to begin filming mid-June with the hopes that we will submit to festivals as early as August.
Please know that we wanted to avoid ever asking anyone for money, but we believe in this project so much that we decided that we could be a little insane on the internet for a few weeks to see what kind of magic happens.
We love you. If you are receiving this, you are already been a big part of keeping us alive in Los Angeles and for that we are grateful.

Erin and I forget that we've had this story brewing in our hearts and mind for more than a year but not everyone has heard about it.
We had the idea for this short and then we were invited to perform at UCB's Legitimate Goddamn Theater- a show where you can perform ANYTHING, not just comedy sketches. We took this as our reason to put the short on paper. We performed it live (with Michael Gardner as our drive thru employee and Angela Salvagio as our director!) and it was the scariest thing we had done to date- a serious piece on a stage where we had only been funny.
After that performance, the number of conversations we got to have about self harm, depression, and struggle with our friends and fellow artists was all we needed to officially decide to capture this thing on film.
After clearing our plates of some other long-running projects, we finally feel like we have the time, the ability and most importantly the team to pull this thing off.
Thank you for helping to make that happen!
