Endo: Blind Horse Working Eq!

Donation protected

Do you believe that loss of sight should not mean a death sentence for a horse?

Did you have to wipe a tear away last year when you watched Endo, who is completely blind, go soaring over the jump in the Las Vegas Working Equitation competition, trusting fully in his young owner/trainer Morgan?

It's time to help support their continued dream with a little bit of green.

We've helped them fund additional training in March of 2015, but now it's time to get serious about fund-raising.

Entries for the 2015 AndalusianWorld Cup in Las Vegas are due soon. We are currently seeking $800 to help get Endo and Morgan to that show.

They also hope to be able to travel to Texas in October to participate in the 2015 Haras Cup Championship Competition. For that to become a reality, however, more funds will be needed ($600 to enter and cover stall and office fees as well if paid before August 15th, along with an estimated $2000 to help cover travel costs to and from their home state of Oregon).

Please consider making a donation today.

Last year, with the help of over 30 people, we raised $3500, which enabled the two of them to train with Portugal's Nuno Matos, Jorge de Sousa, and Claudia Elsner Matos, as well as to make the trek to Las Vegas to compete at the AndalusianWorld Cup.

We're starting this year with $400 already donated, leaving just $3100 to go. Please donate ~ and share. Every bit helps!

If you are not familiar with Endo's story, here it is, briefly. This very special Appaloosa gelding is completely blind, having had to have both of his eyes removed several years ago for medical reasons. Rather than give up on him, his owner/rider/trainer Morgan Wagner redoubled her efforts to help him live a "normal" life. When she was introduced to Working Equitation in December of 2013, she knew that she had found the niche that she wanted to pursue in earnest.

Morgan, who has done all of Endo's training herself, has taught him cues to lift his feet for ascending/descending the bridge. When she learned that WE competitions often include a jump, she spent weeks teaching Endo to jump on voice command, and had thousands of 2014 Andalusian World Cup viewers in tears, as they watched from the stands or tuned into the live video streaming and saw the two of them clear the hay bale jump with plenty of room to spare.

If you appreciate real-life stories of heroic heart and love that does not give up in the face of challenges, please consider joining Team Endo and helping these two continue to refine their skills and show others how far trust, commitment, and hard work can take you.
