MY STORY:
It feels surreal, but I'm going to be a STUDENT again, a student on the MA Musical Theatre degree at the Royal Academy of Music!
I'm so thrilled, and full of hope, butterflies, as at times in recent months it has been a confusing and deeply disheartened time for me, I've felt lost, overwhelmed by feelings of failure - I had a false-start year, with a long long long string of hitting walls and of myself questioning most everything in terms of my ability, purpose and direction.

Macca & Me!
I spent 3 amazing years training in Acting at LIPA (the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) in Acting in 2014, and have had 3 years out of education so far, where I have done some lovely projects and have many wonderful experiences. Although, I was starting to feel as though I'd got stuck, I feel as though my young career never fully gained enough momentum in the first place. I didn't want to give up, or keep blindly pushing forward with no clue of the outcome of my efforts.
To feel like I was taking control of my future in an industry where we have little control over so many outcomes, I created an account on UCAs Conservatoires in January, wrote a personal statement, and applied for the one institution I'd ever pictured myself doing a postgraduate degree. I'm poor as a bloody mouse, so I don't know why I even initally entertained the idea of going for a £15,000 Masters, but I did it anyway. I auditioned late on the 6th April, and as a result thought I would unfortunately no longer be eligible for any scholarships as they all go in the scheduled December auditions, however I was honest and in my paperwork told the academy about my financial situation, saying that without help it'd be near impossibl: they managed to award me an annual scholarship for 'audition achievement' of £3,000 per year, (my course is just a year, though!) and am so so bloody grateful that they would award what they could in late circumstances and listen to me and accommodate me.
Because of this, and my parent's delight and pride, all of a sudden this option that was once an unattainable luxury is a genuine pathway, and one I'm taking with full commitment, regardless of the obstacles.
As I'm thankfully eligible for a loan from the government for my MA, there's a couple thousand left to raise in a few months time.

I intend to work hard for your support, so stay tuned and hopefully I'll see you in a venue soon with a drink in hand and I'll sing for you a bit and you can win a brilliant prize and we can toast the future!!

Thank you ever so much for reading!!

EVENT 1:
EMILY'S 'ROYALLY MASTERFUL' FUNDRAISER
11TH OF JUNE 2017.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that came, donated prizes, donated equipment, donated the venue, came to watch, performed, supported, laughed, cried, clapped. It was one of the most special days of my life and I am so grateful that the turn out was that glorious. I am so so happy with how it turned out. The day completely exceeded my expectations, especially for the amount of people that were there- truly meant that everyone was unbelievably generous.

Magical day, I will never forget. ✨✨✨✨

‘Sometimes singers and music touch your soul but can't believe the voices on the amazing people today for Emily Chesterton's fundraiser. Eithne Browne, George Francis, Keddy Sutton... I wish I could name everyone, It was a magic moment, thank you xx’ - Diane Jansen

‘I had the absolute pleasure of attending Emily’s Royally Masterful Fundraiser yesterday afternoon! & I still can’t feel my cheeks from smiling. What an amazing day!
I left my house intending to help a good friend pursue her dreams, and in doing that I feel like bought a golden ticket to a secret show that could never be replicated, I laughed cried and witnessed some outstanding performances, and for that I am so thankful!
A ruddy good show guys!’ - Jen Cartwright
