Emily's Medical fund/Family fund
Emily is facing months of Hospitalization and a life time of surgeries. She is in the Chapel Hill Hospital in Winston-Salem. Her Grandmother Belinda Was severly burned on both arms trying to save her granddaughter. Please Let help this Family.
Yesterday, January 28th, Emily had a great day! She threw up a few times, still trying to adjust feeds. I know being on pain meds and not moving a whole lot can contribute. However, yesterday I couldn't get this girl to stop moving..lol..probably why I didn't update! She gave me a run for my money! Which I don't mind, because I love seeing her up and happy...but she wore me out! She's very bossy and doesn't take no for an answer! She likes to yell at me, but hug and love me at the same time! We had to get her a crib that encloses, because she won't stop standing up on the sides and looking over. We moved into an actual floor room, in the same area as PICU and IMC. I think she's happy in here, especially because it has a mirror! She stands up in her crib and looks into the mirror and says, "HEY! EMILY!!" Yesterday the doctor came in and she was talking to him. He asked her what her name was and she responded Emily. Then he asked how old she was and she said two! She's so smart!!! She's still a little "not herself" I think because of the meds, she's in a hospital, and has lots going on physically. She didn't go to sleep until 12am last night , so mommy didn't go to sleep until later! My mother-in-law and father-in-law got up this morning and went over to play with her so I could sleep in a little. Her schedule was off yesterday, but she woke up at a good time this morning around 7:30 and she's napping now, so hoping for an earlier bed time tonight. Andy and Eli went home this morning, Elijah has school tomorrow. Belinda is going to stay with me a couple days, so I'll probably start sleeping at the hospital now and Belinda will stay and RMH overnight. Today she's happy & has been taken off the extra "cords" leads and such, so she got to go on a wagon ride and gets to get in the floor and play in her room. Things are looking well with her wounds, but she has been complaining about her left hand that's in the wound vac. I think it's just because it itches and it's definitely, I'm sure, not comfortable. It doesn't smell and she doesn't have any fevers so I think it's ok. They put pins in two of her fingers too & that alone can be irritating. Only a portion of her left hand has burns, so the nerves are probably a little more intense and she can feel more in this hand.
Prayers for her schedule to get back to normal, healing to continue, strength and comfort for all of us, and for overall health! Prayers for her grafts to take, she's been moving around a lot so some of the sutures have come loose on her bolster that's on her neck. Plastics said it looks fine and they are not worried. We just need to make it to Thursday and they will take her to the OR to take it all down. Prayers for finances...we are ok, but I just spent $82 at Walgreens on scar sheets, scar cream, and this new formula of Aveeno (nighttime cream) that works SO good for Em. We have ran out of the GlucanPro that we use and I need to order some more, but waiting because it cost almost $100 for a 4oz tub!
God always provides, so I am not worried, but prayers on that subject couldn't hurt! Right?!
Love you all so very much and am so grateful to have all of you along for the journey! Prayers mean so much to us, they truly work, and we have more than an abundance of them! I believe they have contributed to such a HUGE part of her survival and progress! You all have hands in Emily's continuing overcoming and I am FOREVER in debt to you!!! I'll try to update later if my little wild child allows me too!
Andy....A hard-working Dad who has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back; Amy....The sweetest girl who wanted to do it right --so they got married and were so excited to be blessed with the joy of having a little sister for Elijah. Two of the biggest hearts we know. We are blessed to call you family. While this is the toughest of times, God IS watching....Witness the power of prayer..................EMILY!

Thank you so much for everyone that has given or prayed for our family! We are so very grateful for all of the support. This has been a very difficult time, but God has been so good to us through it all. I know He will continue to pull Emily through this and us as well. He is hope, love, & strength and He has definitely shown that. God Bless you all and please continue to pray for our family ❤️❤️❤️ Emily is doing ok, still critical and in ICU, but things are looking ok. She is a strong little girl and God has her in His almighty hands!
Holy God we humbly and boldly ask through the power of the blood of Christ, for healing, minimal pain & damage, family comfort, healthcare wisdom. Swiftly move we pray. We don't understand but we trust You and know You work all things for good. In Jesus name, Amen. My heart is broken over this sweet baby, prayers lifted daily!
Andy, i will meet you at the hospital and donate skin for her graft. It is a painful process i went through at 19. Contact me if it is possible for me to help. Ill bet they can use my skin because they sometimes use cadaver skin. Please let me know asap if you need my donation. God bless.
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard you hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. It is in the midst of chaos, that God uses us in the most profound ways. Your heart is breaking, so is mine... too much pain sometimes. When it seems to hard to go on, a gentle touch can make us strong. To share the suffering... to ease the pain... to reveal the truth... that there isn't anything love can't do.
I want to thank all of my friends who have prayed for my family and possible contributed to the financial dilemma it is in. Poor Emily needs her mommy and daddy with her and that takes them away from their jobs.....their son and their life. Thank you, thank you, thank you for anything you have done or given to them.
Are you guys aware of Shriner's Hospital. I asked this at the church but got no answer...... so I'll ask here. You can reach me at 704-451-0790
