Aged 11, I was diagnosed with a medical condition called endometriosis. This is a medical condition where the tissue from the lining of the womb also grows outside the womb and attacks the other organs around. This causes severe pain. This doesn’t usually affect women this young.
Aged 24, I was diagnosed with a type of endometriosis which is deep infiltrating. This is named Rectovaginal Endometriosis. This means it penetrates the organs, affecting the insides of the organs and making it harder to get rid of. 27% of women with endometriosis suffer with stage 4 Rectovaginal Endometriosis.
Endometriosis has had a huge impact on my life meaning I struggled with school, college and university due to how it affects me and it’s starting again to affect me with work as I am in constant agony every day. I’m crying more with pain now, than I have done in 13 years I’ve been diagnosed and I am being made to wait for an operation that should have been completed in February 2018 but was told it was way to complex to touch and I would have to wait. I’m in agony every day and I am struggling to cope! It’s having such a huge effect of my life. It’s too much for me right now.
I was informed a few weeks ago that if I do not freeze my eggs before I have this surgery, i will become infertile due to the Endometriosis suffocating my ovaries and due to me having 5 other surgeries in the past to try and relieve the pain. It’s having an affect on my vaginal wall, ovaries, Fallopian tubes, bladder, bowel, rectum, uterus, and intestine.
To be able to have my eggs frozen I need to raise this money and it’s always been so important to me to have my own family. I will not be able to get pregnant naturally and will have to go through IVF when I’m ready for a family. Unfortunately, I am not able to receive this help on the NHS with a medical condition that has affected my fertility and need help to raise the money.
Due to my ovarian count being so low at my age, when it should be at its peak, I have to have 3 sessions of egg freezing to give me the slightest chance of it ever actually working for me. This comes at a price of £3,500 per session and a £500 initial payment working out at £11,000.
It means so much to me if you could help me out in any way possible and if you could share my campaign to raise awareness of what affects this disease has on women’s bodies.
