Send East Bay DSA to Convention!
Donation protected
Socialism’s moment has arrived.
The Democratic Socialists of America has quadrupled its nationwide membership since this time last year, and the East Bay chapter has grown at an astronomical rate. We’ve been taking full advantage of our newfound power, and have emerged as a leading chapter—the media highlights our efforts, and members around the country look to us as a model for how to do socialist organizing in 2017.
DSA’s national convention is coming up in August, and we know that strong East Bay representation is necessary for the wellbeing of both our chapter and the national organization.
But we need your help to make it happen! We are asking that people pitch in here to help cover travel costs of our delegates. If you donate now, here’s what you’ll be paying for:
—East Bay DSA is committed to the fight for single-payer healthcare, and our delegates will press the national chapter to dedicate money, time and energy to universal health care access nationwide. Our single-payer campaign has been pioneering and inspirational to our peers around the country, and we will arrive at the convention ready to share strategies and organizing models with other chapters.
—Our (former) co-chair Jeremy Gong is one of the authors of the Spring Platform, which calls for more transparency and democratic organizational structure in the national DSA organization. Many of our delegate nominees have expressed support for the Spring Platform, which endeavors to push DSA to become "a truly powerful fighting organization on the political Left, one that can lead the rebuilding of a mass socialist movement in this country while winning serious reforms in the fight against capitalism.”
—East Bay DSA is committed to fighting against capitalist exploitation, and building a mass working-class resistance to wealth inequality. We believe that a system in which the elite few profit from the misery of the many is a system that must be dismantled. We are committed to building real socialist power in the United States for the first time in generations. The choices our delegates make on behalf of East Bay DSA will be rooted in the conviction that socialism should and will become a formidable force in American politics again.
Too many socialist organizations have devolved and faded into obscurity, without wresting a dime from the bosses and landlords for working people. We want DSA to be different. We play to win.
Please donate today to send our delegates to the convention. Once there, they will act not only on your behalf, but on behalf of all working people, who desperately need a revitalized socialist movement to correct the brutal imbalances inherent to capitalism.
