Dudley's Addison's Disease Journey

"Hi There! My name is Dudley, I'm the funniest Goldendoodle. I am very sweet natured guy who wouldn't hurt a fly! I really love to play which is why I hope that my furever home has some small humans to bounce around with.
But, when I was just 16 weeks old I ran into a pretty scary situation. I got sick and needed a lot of care. My vet told TCPR that I had Addisons Disease. This made being a bouncy puppy kind of hard because I didn't feel good most of the time.
Today, I am doing so much better though! I'm on just one pill a day, which is actually kind of fun because I get it INSIDE of a treat! When I get to my new family I will still need special hormone shots every 25 days from my vet. I get treats at my vet too because we are buddies. But, with every day I feel so much more bouncy and playful and energetic!
So, here is what my vet had to say about Addisons disease in dogs:
Addison's disease in dogs is also known as hypoadrenocorticism. It is a disease that results from the reduction in corticosteroid secretion from the adrenal gland. The adrenal gland is a small gland located near the kidney that secretes several different substances that help regulate normal body functions. With treatment and proper care this is a manageable disease in dogs.
I cant wait to be adopted and start my life with my furever family. On the road to being adopted there have been a lot of medical expenses. But, with your help I can continue on my journey to finding my furever family!
