Drew's Auto-Immune Treatment Fund
Donation protected
Andrew was first diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in his mid-20's. A particularly severe episode left several of his fingers and toes noticeably bent. Psoriatic arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which certain parts of the body are tricked into attacking healthy cells.
A routine dental appointment last week revealed the disease has created issues in the nerves of his upper teeth. The only treatment to prevent the disease from spreading is ALL of his upper teeth must all be removed as soon as possible. He will then immediately need the first in a series of 4 upper dentures to assist in the healing process. He is meeting with the Oral Surgeon on September 6th to schedule the procedure.
The entire treatment has a whooping estimated price tag of $21,000!!! Given Andrew only works part-time, and has limited mobility in his hands and feet, paying for the entire procedure is beyond his means.
Andrew is by nature a caretaker. For years he has collected items for animal rescues and donated money whenever he could. Yes, he would rather eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a month if it means a dog gets what it needs. His greatest love has been his own rescue dogs - both Weimaraners. It takes a special person to be a Weim's best friend, and we think Andrew is special. Our goal is to raise as much of the $21,000 as possible. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated - by us, by Andrew and all his four-legged friends.
