Dale Mabry Army Air Field Museum

Tallahassee's Dale Mabry Army Air Field was a major airbase, training over 8,000 fighter pilots including Chinese, British and French pilots AND the original Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.  Yet today, the airbase has all but disappeared and there is no museum where Tallahasseans or history-minded tourists can learn about the major contributions this airbase made towards the war effort, both on the homefront and the warfront, or the way the base forever changed Tallahassee and the State of Florida through its many socio-economic impacts.

Our goal is to create an educational complex on former airbase property using original, reclaimed structures still in existence in and around Tallahassee.  This mini-installation will be used to take visitors, including school children on field trips, on an experiential journey back in time to learn about WWII, the Army Air Corp, Tallahassee's unique story during mobilization both on the homefront and the warfront--and  America's "Greatest Generation".

Dale Mabry Army Air Field  Museum, Inc. is a Florida non-profit with IRS 501(c)3 status

VISION:  To create a museum complex where people of all ages leave inspired and changed by their visit experience.

MISSION: To bring the values of our honored past into the present, in preparation for our shared future.
