Home for Women in Reentry

She came home with nothing but her prison uniform, a few pairs of socks and $80.00 she'd managed to save.  Her family ties had been broken, just like promises she'd made during her addiction.  She entered the halfway house alone and unsure of what was ahead of her.  Before long, she found work and continued to save her money.   Determined to stay on the right path, she began looking for transitional housing and found none.  Waiting lists, calls never returned, bad neighborhoods, poor living conditions was all she found.

This is a true story that illustrates the struggle of women returning home from prison.  They face tremendous challenges finding safe housing and suitable employment. 

Since 2013  the Women's Wellness Foundation has provided job referalls, clothing, personal care items, bus passes and financial assistance to women in reentry. Our goal is to provide transitional housing for women while they regain the stability needed to continue their recovery.

Your donation of any amount will us provide safe, affordable housing for women transitioning back into the community.  Our home, Dinami House, taken from the Greek word for strength, will give women a chance to put the pieces of their lives back together again. 

We estimate the project to cost $50,000 but have committed to raising $25,000 on our own through board and individual donors, in-kind donations and volunteers.  Partner with us today!
