Help me to support development projects in Togo

For my Internship project, I went to Lome, Togo in West Africa. I am here working with a Non-profit organization called SADA - Synergie d’actions pour un developpement approprie (Synergy of Actions for appropriate Development). SADA was established 2012 and since then many mile stones in different directions have been achieved which includes the planting of 150 trees to fight deforestation, the establishment of a primary school, the provision of schooling material and the payment of school fees for more than 150 children in Togo. The establishment of a women center where women can learn how to read, write and use the computer in order to empower them and make them independent was another big project that was realized.

SADA aims to improve the socio-economic and moral well-being of deprived populations, especially in rural areas.

This crowdfunding pages is created to support two different projects. 

1. Achieve funding to keep Togo’s vulnerable children in school

2.The creation of a clean, safe environment for Lomé’s children


1.Help me raise money to keep Togo’s vulnerable children in school

Education is the most efficient way to escape from poverty. It represents the bridge for these children to overcome often generation long poverty.

The Problem: 
In many villages in Togo, the schools are very far.
The young children would need to walk up to 15 Km each day. This is too long and too dangours for young kids. Due to this, many children cannot attent school.
To grant education for all children in Togo and to keep the 150 children that already benefit from SADAs projects in school, your help is needed!

Why your money matters:
The raised money will be used to buy schooling material such as books, paper, and pens. Furthermore, will SADA pay for the school fee of all these children and hopes to raise enough money to give more poor children in Togo the opportunity to go to school in order to empower them to escape from poverty.

The school fee for one year for one child is: 30 Euros

Schooling material per one child for one-year costs: 9 Euros

This results in the total amount of 39 Euros for one year of education per child.
To keep all 150 children in school, 5.850 Euro is needed. 
(39 x 150=5.850)




2.Help me raise money to create a clean, safe environment for Lomé’s children!

For my Internship Project, I am working on a campaing to raise money clean Lomé’s streets and purchase trash bins and a motorcycle with a trailor to create a clean, safe environment for Lomé’s children.
To realize this idea, your help is needed!

The Problem:
The community where the office of SADA is located has a big trash problem.
There are not sufficient trash bins and no from the government organized trash transportation system.

This results in trash everywhere. When walking around in Lome, the trash problem is  part of live for the population. The streets where the children are playing and food is sold are polluted.




Because of the lack of disposal opportunities, the population continues to throw rest on the streets.
The consequence is a polluted environment which increases health risks for the population, especially the children. Small kids are putting the trash in their mouth or playing with it. The trash attracts bugs and other insects that carry diseases. This is particularly dangerous regarding the huge malaria issue Togo has.



What we want to do:
To change this situation, the area needs to be cleaned and trash bins need to be installed.
To create a long-lasting change, a motorcycle with a trailor will be needed which enables SADA to bring the trash bins to the garbage dumb in Togo.
To create a change in the habits of the community, an event will be organized in order to make the population aware about the danger of plastic and pollution, the importance of using the trash bins and how to avoid unnecessary trash.

Why your money matters:
Only with your help we will be able to realize the Project!
2200 Euros are needed to realize the project.
This amount is used for the following:

Gloves and trash bags = 50 Euros
Trash bins:
One big Trash bin costs 10.000 CFA which is equivalent to 17 Euros


For the long-term success of the project at least 20 bins are needed.
17 x 20 = 340 Euros.

The organization of the event to create awareness about the consequences of trash will costs around 200 Euros. This includes the price for flyer printing, Posters for demonstration and drinks for the participants. 

The cheapest motorbike will cost 900.000 CFA which is 1400 Euros.

1400+340+200+50 =1990 Euros

Due to price fluctuations 2200 Euros are calculated. All money that is left over will be used for more trash bins or will go to the Non-profit organization SADA.
