Dayce's Wilms Tumor fund

Donation protected
On July 21st, 2016 our lives were changed forever by a lack of appetite and a low grade fever.  We took our 6 year-old son, Dayce, to the Doctor and they started a flury of tests and they were all STAT!!!  After just an hour we were being told that our baby has a Wilms tumor on his right kidney and it needs removed quickly. That afternoon we were driving up to Kansas City Childrens Mercy Hospital to confirm when we could get this horrible thing out of him, and start his road to recovery.

July 25th, 2016 – Dayce’s tumor was rated a Stage 3, and it was a rapid growing one. He only has had it for about 3 months to the best that they can determine. It was removed and it was HUGE! The size of a small Watermelon!! It was fused to his lungs and liver, affected several lymph nodes as well as his adrenal gland on that side. They took out the tumor, his right kidney, several lymph nodes, and an adrenal gland. His incision is from his sternum all the way around to his back. The tumor ruptured while it was being removed, which indicates he will have to have not just chemotherapy, but also radiation treatment for him.

We are very lucky in being told that his lungs are not affected by this!

Today, July 26th we are waiting on pathology reports to let us know if the cancer cells are Anaplastic (Unfavorable histology) or not.  This information is pivotal in determining Dayce’s treatment plan.

Both of us (Mon & Dad) want to be sure that one of us will be able to be at the hospital and at home with him at all times until the treatments are well underway and we feel secure about leaving him in family care..   We are almost a week into this and scared about our pending financial concerns…. We expect high medical  expenses.  And so it is with humble hearts that we are setting up this fundraiser.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Any monetary help is greatly appreciated and would help to alleviate the burden of the mounting medical bills and loss of income.
