I have known this family for more than 20 years.  A beautiful single mother, Patti, and two loving sons, Jason and Joshua who were dedicated to their Mom.  Jason who was Patti's caregiver and Joshua the bread winner.  Jason lost a long battle with cancer a few years ago, leaving his mother and brother in a state of sadness and despair for months.



With the passing of Jason, Josh was not only the one providing income but also provided full time care to his mother.  Somehow he managed to do both by giving up what many young adults enjoying doing, and without one complaint or regret. 

Three weeks ago, Josh and his  mother, Patti have been dealt another devastating blow.  Patti was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Because of past health conditions leaving Patti in a weakened and fragile state they were told she would not be able to withstand surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. Their only hope for survival would be drugs.  As everyone who knows, insurance does not cover all, if any, of the enormace cost to these cancer fighting drugs. One alone would cost $3,000 per month not to mention all the associated medical costs.

With her son being the one and only provider unable to work full time, if at all,  it's becoming increasingly stressful for Josh wondering not only how to pay for the life saving drugs his mother needs but how to provide a warm, comfortable home for her. Something he has done for many many years. 

All the funds donated will be put to work immediately to pay for her cancer fighting drugs, help pay for medical co-payments and expenses and to help with their rent.

Please find it in your hearts to help this loving mother and son in their courageous fight against this horrible disease.  Please keep Patti and Josh in your prayers.
