Help for Dacey

Dacey is a seven year old little girl that has had seven open heart surgeries (due to missing the mitral valve and now has a mechanical valve) and multiple hospitalizations since she was four months old. Last year she was admitted to UNC Children's Hospital for four months after a month stay at New Hanover Regional Hospital while decisions were being discussed with other physicians and hospitals across the nation for the best plan of action. Due to the risks of another valve replacement, it was determined a heart transplant would be the best option, but when Dacey started getting sicker, the surgeon made the choice to go ahead and do the valve replacement. Due to the many hospitalizations and doctors appointments her mom has not been able to keep a steady job in order to be with Dacey in her times of need. At this time Dacey's dad is the only parent able to work while mom stays home to care for Dacey, her twin sisters, and little brother, as she tries to finish school on-line. The family currently has one car that has been split between mom and dad and has now broken down. The family has been trying to get a more reliable source of transportation, but due to limited resources and finances at this time has hit a hardship. Dacey has doctor appointments and other therapy appointments coming up and the family is worried if she misses them of a negative impact on Dacey's health. They are also getting concerned since their only transportation was getting dad to and from work. This family does not ask for help, but are in need. If you can do anything to help this family, it is greatly appreciated. Please help this little girl get to her appointments and help keep her out of the hospital.
