DIVADONATIONS.COM DIVA Donations is a 501c3 formal clothing closet that is dedicated to relieving the financial stress placed on families during a special occasion or event. DIVA Donations has homecoming, prom dresses available for our DIVAS , and we sell our wedding ,mother of the bride and flower girl dresses for a small donation. We are open by appointment and run completely by volunteers.
The idea of DIVA Donations was born after a mother and her 4 daughters were helping the eldest clean out her closet and had found 15 formals in the back of the closet. They all realized a need in their community helping girls attend their formal dances and special occasions/events because they had helped the eldest daughters friends attend dances over the years. It started in the home of the founder and helped 7 girls attend Prom the first year. Then Homecoming they helped 30 girls attend. Their dress collection grew with the help of a resale store called Fashion Forward and a donation of 600 gowns and a generous store owner and the donation of her attic space to store the donated dresses. It has continued to grow over the years and now is a fully functioning formal fashion boutique. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and young girls in our community.
DIVA Donations isthe first FormalClothing Closet run on #KindDeedCurrency it is about building self esteem and helping a girl see that they too can make a difference in someone's life and help change the world one dress at a time. A DIVA girl can aquire the use of a dress,shoes,jewelry for the cost of 2 hours of volunteer service. This gives them those service hours needed for many organizations such as NHS, college applications,and youth service projects. It helps them and it helps us and helps their community. But to able to to do that we need to be able to fund our closet a different way. We do have expenses such as rent,cleaning,supplies,insurance,promotion. All these things are needed still.
