My name is Melissa, and I am currently raising funds to purchase a Cuddle Cot for my local hospital (Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg).
My Daughter Avery should have entered the world around December 15th 2015, as fate would have it this could not happen, she passed in utero and was delivered 15 weeks early. I spent 3 of the most wonderful hours with her before I felt the need to hand her over, due to the changes. In those 3 hours I was encouraged to take as much time as I needed, but to be honest there is never enough time to say goodbye to your child.
I have discovered that my situation is not unique, many parents of stillborns wish they had just a little more time. The feeling that getting little things like footprints is rushed. In fact I am in the middle range, some parents spend as little as an hour, and I can't imagine the pain of the poor mom who has a medical emergency and gets as little as a few minutes to say hello and goodbye in the same breath.
How do you have just a little more time??? Through the use of a Cuddle Cot, these simple machines help keep a baby who has died cool and thus slow down certain processes that occur. This slowing down gives parents a little more time to say goodbye, while allowing the baby to stay with the family in their hospital room.

This gift of precious time for grieving parents is so important as the moments spent with their babies immediately after delivery are the memories they will carry their entire lives, their only memories.
The Cuddle Cot is so deeply needed in every hospital. Every donation and every share is another step closer to having one placed in Northumberland Hills Hospital.
Thank you in advance on behalf of all babies gone too soon and their families.
